Musculoskeletal rehabilitation is a very important branch of physiotherapy in which the conditions are associated with either muscular or skeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, nerves or muscles). Problems with the musculo-skeletal system could arise due to injury, trauma, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, degenerative changes, etc.
Musculoskeletal rehabilitation includes variety of treatments including exercise therapy and electrotherapy that are designed specifically to address the structures of the muscular or skeletal system (bones ,ligaments, tendons, muscles, cartilage). Musculoskeletal rehabilitation also focuses on pre-opt/ post-opt management.
A physiotherapist plans and creates a very specific musculoskeletal rehabilitation based on the individuals condition, symptoms and needs which helps the individual to resume activity, recover , regain strength and confidence
